2K heeft laten weten dat NBA 2K18 op 15 september verschijnt voor pc, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One en Nintendo Switch. Er zullen drie verschillende edities beschikbaar zijn: Standard, Legend en Legend Gold. Die laatste zal enkel digitaal verkrijgbaar zijn. De Legend Edition krijgt Shaquille O’Neal op de cover.
Voor de Standard Edition worden wat pre-order bonussen voorzien, maar die moeten nog onthuld worden. De inhoud van de Legend en Legend Gold Edition is als volgt:
