Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness en Disgaea 4: Return zijn allebei in de maak en zullen dra uitkomen, maar ondertussen is Nippon Ichi ook begonnen aan de volgende stap in de franchise: Disgaea 5. Het spel zit nog maar in pre-productie, dus het zal nog wel even duren voor we ermee aan de slag kunnen, maar het is geruststellend voor de fans dat het eraan komt. Het doel is in elk geval om Disgaea 1 te overtreffen.
Verder is er een rondvraag geweest omtrent de games die Nippon Ichi uitbrengt en de top vijf wordt nogal gedomineerd door Disgaea. Op volgorde staan Disgaea, Disgaea 4, Disgaea 2, Disgaea D2 en Soul Nomad & The World Eaters in de top vijf, waarbij Disgaea 3 op plaats zes staat.
